Anti-Suppression

A novel procedure is outlined for measuring the extent to which the fixing eye suppresses the fellow amblyopic eye. We hypothesize that suppression renders a structurally binocular system, functionally monocular. Training the Brain to see using both the eyes, the targets visible in one eye is not visible in other eye forcing Brain to use both the eyes.

The patient should be capable enough to handle the binocular function. As a prerequisite, the monocular function needed to be through.

Methodology based on

Program to measure of suppression issues.

  • Pursuits Constantly tracking the moving object in the viewport.
  • Saccades Tracking the object jump from location to another.
  • Crowding Training the Brain to recognize the given object from a crowd of similar objects.

Who can be treated with this programs

  • In decompensationg heterophoria and Convergence Insufficiency(CI).
  • In the selected case of anisometropia.
  • In the selected case of intermittent strabismus.
  • In the selected case of constant strabismus. Potential for Binocular functions must exist.
